In 1973, Dr. Thomas worked along with the other eleven IWSA Founder members who were active & formed the constitution & registered IWSA under the Public Trust.  In IWSA she worked as IWSA-Secretary for a few years.

She completed BSc, MSc, and PhD (Entomology) from Delhi University.  Thereafter, she worked as a Pool Officer at CSIR.  Dr. Thomas was also an artist in All India Radio during 1945-1962. She was at the University of Miami, USA as a Post-Doctoral fellow from 1963 to 1965. She joined BARC as a Scientific Officer in 1969 and worked in the Entomology Section, NABTD Division till 1984.  After resigning from BARC, she joined as a Director in the Pvt. Ltd Company of her husband (Enzyme Pharma & Industrial Chemistry – EPIC), at Vashi and worked till 1997.  Thereafter she was a Secretary of Housing Society, Juhu.
