IWSA’s Scholarship Awards for Science Education

IWSA’s scholarship awards are given from generous donations from well wishers. These awards are given annually on merit-cum-need basis to girl students pursuing science education at different levels (from X Std to Ph. D), computer courses and teacher training courses. Applications are invited once in a year across India through information on the IWSA website and notification sent to colleges.
List of IWSA Annual Awards: 2020 – 2021
Merit-cum-Means Awards for Girls
- “IWSA Awards for B.Sc/B. Tech.”
Eligibility: Girls pursuing B.Sc. in any Science stream/B.Tech (first to third year), with family income less then Rs. 3 lakhs/yr.
- “Dr. Shantoo Gurnani – IWSA Merit-cum-Means Award”: for a girl student pursuing B.Sc.
Eligibility: Girls pursuing B.Sc in any Science stream (first to third year), with family income less then Rs. 3 lakhs/yr.
- “Chetan Premani Memorial – IWSA Award”: for a girl student pursuing M.Sc.
Eligibility: Girls pursuing M.Sc in any Science stream, with family income less then Rs. 4 lakhs/yr .
4. “IWSA Award” for M.Sc /M.Tech”
Eligibility: Girls pursuing M.Sc. in any Science stream/M.Tech., with family income less then Rs. 4 lakhs/ yr.
- “Late Dr. Jayashree Daoo – IWSA Award”: instituted by Major Vikram Daoo in memory of his mother, for a bright girl pursuing Ph.D in any field of Science.
Eligibility: Girl students from second year onwards of their Ph.D programme (in science or applied science), with annual family income not to exceed Rs. 6 lakhs/ yr. They should submit the research proposal given for Ph.D registration.
6. “Late Dr. Sumati and Mr. Vasudeo Bhide-IWSA Award: instituted by Prof. Amar Bhide in memory of his parents, for a bright girl student pursuing Ph.D in any field of Science.
Eligibility: Girl students from second year onwards of their Ph.D programme (in science or applied science) with annual family income not to exceed Rs. 6 lakhs/ yr. They should submit the research proposal given for Ph.D registration.
- “Late Dr. Suresh Mahajan -IWSA Award: instituted by Dr. V. Sanzgiri in memory of his MS and PhD guide, Dr. S.K. Mahajan, for a bright girl student pursuing Ph.D in any discipline of Life Sciences.
Eligibility: Girl students from second year onwards of their Ph.D programme in Life sciences, with family annual income not to exceed Rs. 6 lakhs/ yr. They should submit the research proposal given for Ph.D registration.
The award will also carry a citation and a trophy.
The Scholarship Committee will decide on the Awards (5-7) in case of selected applicants
- “Mrs. Leela Bansiya -IWSA Award: a felicitation award instituted by Mr. Jagdish Bansiya in his mother’s name. It is an annual award for a bright girl student topper in the science stream at the H.Sc. level from a Navi Mumbai school.
- “Pof. V.K. Kelkar- IWSA Award: a felicitation award instituted by Mr. Jayant Kelkar in the name of his father. It is an annual award for a girl student topper in the science stream at the HSc level, in the Mumbai Divisional Board,.
All awards carry a certificate from IWSA.
In addition, there are several other Awards instituted by generous donors, well-wishers & IWSA members for students attending different courses/ programmes at IWSA.
