Dr. Rajani Ray was committed to the propagation of scientific knowledge and thus became one of the founder members at a very young age.

She completed BE (Mechanical) and joined as 12th Batch Trainee of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre’s Training school in 1968 and worked as Scientific Officer (Engineer) in Reactor Engineering Division of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre from1969 to 1988 at Mumbai. She has contributed immensely to the Training School of BARC by teaching her subject for several years. Her passing away at such a young age has been an immense loss not only to IWSA, but to BARC as well.
