Dr. Lalit Narurkar is the second living founder member, who was an active member in the initial years of IWSA. Dr. Narurkar completed M Sc, Biology and PhD (Biochemistry), from Mumbai University. She worked in the Biochemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Institute, Mumbai from 1957-1993.

Her work was on Enzymes and Carcinogenesis. She visited USA and worked on Cancer related projects.  After retirement she started working in Rural areas on education, health and hygiene. She started “Amchi Shala” a school for village children near Anushaktinagar. She conducted many science exhibitions in schools at Vashi Navi Mumbai.
